Open Evening 2014

Hey guys,

Sam A here, it is 18:48 on Wednesday 24th September and I am here with Sam F and James G.

Right now we have a few people coming in to interview. The Year 6's start nervously but then start to respond to the conversations! We have been playing music and now we are waiting for some teachers to come and be interviewed!

James is now interviewing Adam (his brother). He is asking him a few questions about the night such as: 'What has been your favourite subject of the night?' and 'How do you like Wildern Radio?' We have discovered that Adam's favourite subject so far is Maths and he thinks Wildern Radio is 'nice'!

We have been going on an interview loop starting with me, then James then Sam F.

I have just interviewed a girl called Katie and she was very shy but did very well! The evening is in full swing and it's one interview after the next!

Sam F is now about to interview Callum - we have found out Callum's favourite bit of the evening was the basketball and he likes P.E. He has a brother that has recently left the school. He likes the equipment here at Wildern.

Now I have interviewed my sister and her two friends! We discovered that the Food Tech pizza was a common interest between them and they are very much looking forward to coming to Wildern now!

19:18 and we are still awaiting teachers! We have had many interests in our equipment now!

James is now going to interview a girl named Freya. She seemed particularly keen at first. James is also extremely keen to test out his new script! We have found out that Freya thinks our school is 'amazing' and particularly likes the Berry Theatre and the ICT department. She also thinks everyone is really nice and cheerful!

Lawrence was just interviewed by me - we found out he especially likes Drama and thinks the school is 'very big but not too hard to get around in'.

I have just interviewed Hannah who likes Performing Arts, which is good as Wildern is a Performing Arts school! She has looked at coming to either Wildern or Wyvern but said this evening has persuaded her to the side of Wildern! Yaaay! She had a good radio voice - another member perhaps?? We asked her and she seemed keen - so let's hope so!!

Okay - so it is 19:53 and still no teachers - looks like we may just have students this time! But it is still good as we have had very positive feedback to Wildern and Wildern Radio - and we may have recruited some new members for next year!

Kaelan is about to be interviewed by James. James has discovered his mum taught him! He still cannot say his name after asking him questions and finding out he wants to come to Wildern really badly after what he saw today.

PJ was half interviewed by me however the bell soon cut us short and we had to pack up! Sorry PJ!

Okay guys - it is 20:00 and it has been a good night and we have had a lot of interviews! We're all a little croaky but we cannot wait to hear it all back and throw in some music...

This has been Sam blogging for Wildern Radio for tonight's Open Evening 2014 - look out for our new broadcasts!
